Trevecca to sponsor Sadie Robertson’s Live Original Tour
Trevecca Nazarene University and Trevecca Online are excited to sponsor the Live Original Tour with Sadie Robertson. The tour starts Oct. 19 and runs through Nov. 12. Tour stops include Hermitage, Tenn., Atlanta and Myrtle Beach, S.C.
“Since the heart of this tour is all about helping people to find their purpose, we thought what better than to partner with a college that’s focused on the same thing?” Robertson said. “That’s why we’re partnering with Trevecca.
Trevecca is one of just four sponsors of the 16-date tour, which features Robertson, her older brother, John Luke Robertson, and Christian artists Anthem Lights, Hollyn, Chris McClarney (Jesus Culture) and Steven Malcolm. The Live Original Tour kicks off Oct. 19 in Huntsville, Ala.
The Trevecca-sponsored tour isn’t Robertson’s first interaction with the University. Back in 2013, Robertson and her brother John Luke spoke at TNT@TNU in one of their first speaking engagements.
“Four years ago, [Trevecca] was the first place that invited me to speak,” Robertson recalled. “I did not want to be a speaker at the time, had never even thought about being a speaker. But four years later, this is what I do now, this is what I love to do, and this is my passion.”
Since then, Robertson has written three books, including a New York Times bestseller about faith and life called Live Original. She launched the Live Original Tour in 2016, toured with Toby Mac’s Winter Jam tour in 2017 and has appeared in movies such as God’s Not Dead 2, I’m Not Ashamed and season 19 of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,” where she placed second.
Dr. Tim Eades, associate provost and vice president of graduate and continuing studies, is excited for the opportunity to partner with Robertson and support a tour that meshes so well with the mission of Trevecca’s School of Graduate and Continuing Studies, the academic unit that houses Trevecca Online.
“At Trevecca, our hope is that we help our students live out their calling and purpose,” Eades said. “Through our campus-based or fully online degree programs, we help them grow in competency and faith while preparing them to be servant leaders in their fields.”
