President Dan Boone presides over the 2023 Trevecca Commencement ceremonies.

Guests numbering in the thousands joined Trevecca’s administration and faculty in celebrating the spring 2023 graduating class during two outdoor commencement ceremonies at Trevecca’s campus on Saturday, May 6.

Between the two outdoor convocations, more than 850 new Trevecca graduates received their degrees.

“Today, with a deep sense of conviction, Trevecca offers the world the gift of these graduates,” Trevecca Provost Dr. Tom Middendorf said. “We send them out not only with celebration, but the anticipation that they’ll accomplish great things through leadership and service.”

The commencement ceremony for undergraduate degrees took place at 9 a.m., and the ceremony for graduates with advanced degrees took place at 2 p.m.

A retiring faculty member was also honored during each ceremony. Plaques were presented to Dr. Brenda Patterson, a professor of exercise and sport science, and Dr. Ken Burger, a professor in graduate and adult education, for their years of faithful service at Trevecca and in Christian education.

Dr. Brandee Norris, director of Trevecca’s healthcare administration programs, offered the challenge to new graduates during both services.
