Trevecca Nazarene University celebrates 2021 graduates with spring commencement

Members of Trevecca’s administration and faculty joined a few thousand guests in honoring TNU’s spring 2021 graduating class during four on-campus commencement ceremonies on Friday and Saturday, May 7-8.
Between two outdoor convocations Friday and two on Saturday, more than 1,300 new Trevecca graduates earned degrees this spring. Social distancing guidelines resulted in separate ceremonies for candidates from different degree levels and programs, but the opportunity to conduct in-person events took graduation a step closer to the traditional format.
“A commencement ceremony always reminds us that earning a college degree is a major step in life, and we’re happy that so many of our graduates’ family and friends could be part of that special moment on our campus this year,” Trevecca Provost Dr. Tom Middendorf said. “We’re especially proud of the way the class of 2021 has persevered, and we look forward to following their successes.”
Being present on the grounds at Trevecca was especially meaningful for many of this year’s graduates.
“This campus is welcoming and inclusive, and my whole experience here has given me everything I needed to grow academically and as a person,” said Brandon Haskins, Sr., who received an Ed.D. degree this spring.
Commencement ceremonies for advanced degrees were held Friday, May 7. Ceremonies for associate and bachelor’s degrees took place Saturday, May 8, with separate events for traditional and non-traditional student groups.
