Talkin’ Trevecca: New Student-Produced Video Series Spotlights the People Behind the Campus Community

| Student Life

Early this semester, Trevecca will launch “Talkin’ Trevecca,” a new video series hosted and produced by students that highlights the people who make the University’s campus such a special place.

With junior communications major Alana McLaughlin serving as the host, Talkin’ Trevecca features conversational, interview-style episodes with Trevecca administrators, faculty and students. Each episode offers a behind-the-scenes look at personal stories from individuals who shape–and are shaped by–the Trevecca community.

The idea for the series emerged after a previous interview with McLaughlin, who also hosts her own talk show that airs on FOX Nashville, “Perspectives with Alana McLaughlin.”

“I had interviewed Alana for a feature story on our blog and learned about her impressive work off campus,” said Teron Fairchild, a marketing communications writer at Trevecca. “Hearing her talk about her love for Trevecca and her experience hosting a talk show sparked the idea of creating that same kind of conversation—but focused on the people within our own campus community.”

“Talkin’ Trevecca” is built around authentic conversation. Guests are invited to share their stories, reflect on how Trevecca has impacted their lives and discuss the ways they hope to invest in the University’s future. Student videographer interns Lacey Adams and Eddie-Devonte Barrett have led filming and editing for the series, with the first episode scheduled to premiere on Trevecca’s YouTube channel in early February.

“I’m incredibly proud of the work these students have put into this project over the past few months,” Fairchild said. “They’ve helped pave a way for prospective students and families to truly see the heart of Trevecca through the voices of the people who make it special.”

Episodes of “Talkin’ Trevecca” will be released every other week throughout the year on the Trevecca blog and the school's YouTube channel.
