Trevecca to celebrate grand opening of the Jackson Center with special events

It’s been years since a new building has opened on campus, so Trevecca Nazarene University is planning to celebrate the dedication of the Jackson Center for Music and Worship Arts in style. The 25,509-square-foot building, which opened for classes in January, is the home of Trevecca’s School of Music and Worship Arts.

To celebrate the building’s dedication, the School of Music and Worship Arts (SoMWA) has planned a series of musical events to mark the occasion. Grand Opening Week will kick off on March 16 and highlights include performances by Trevecca’s own big band, TNAZ Jazz, the Trevecca Symphony Orchestra and alumni group Sonus.

The Jackson Center dedication service is set for 3:30 p.m. on March 17 in the Music Garden. Trevecca faculty and staff, alumni, current students and guests will celebrate the long-desired addition to campus in a short ceremony featuring Trevecca officials, School of Music and Worship Arts faculty, and more. Visitors are invited to explore the new building immediately following the dedication. The open house will last from 4:15-5:30 p.m., with current Trevecca students providing musical accompaniment throughout the building.

Songwriting instructor Kim McLean will headline a Nashville-style songwriters round on March 18, while Redeemed and the National Praise and Worship Institute choir will lead a night of worship on March 19. To learn more, visit the full schedule of events.

Tickets are not required to attend the concerts, but seating is limited so visitors are encouraged to reserve seats. Each performance will last an hour. Guests are free to tour the building an hour before and after each performance.
