Trevecca counted among the top 10 colleges in the state

For the second consecutive year, Trevecca Nazarene University is ranked among the top 10 colleges and universities in Tennessee, according to WalletHub. The personal finance website released its 2020 Best Universities and Colleges Rankings on Oct. 21.

Trevecca ranked fifth among Tennessee institutions, rising from ninth last year. Trevecca and Lipscomb University were the only two Council of Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) member institutions to make the list of top Tennessee schools.

The study, which was designed to help college-bound students make informed choices about where they go to college, compared more than 1,000 institutions of higher education in the U.S. across 33 key measures. The data is grouped into seven categories including student selectivity, cost and financing, and career outcomes.

Of the private, Christian institutions in Tennessee included in the ranking, Trevecca placed among the top two schools in the campus experience category and among the top three institutions in the cost and financing ranking. Each of these rankings is determined by a weighted system that considers a variety of factors including the number of international students enrolled, gender and racial diversity, the average earning from on-campus employment as well as net cost and other factors.

Among higher education institutions in the South, Trevecca ranked in the 86th percentile of the 328 colleges and universities included in the region. Read the entire ranking and the methodology here.

These rankings come at the close of an exciting fall semester. For the first time in University history, Trevecca marked a total enrollment of more than 4,000 students. The Chronicle of Higher Education recently named Trevecca among the top 20 fastest-growing private doctoral-level universities in its 2019-2020 Almanac, with the University ranking 11th out of 116 institutions. More than 1,300 Trevecca students are now completing their degrees online, working toward degrees at every level, from associate to doctoral.
