NASHVILLE – Friday afternoon was a beautifully sunny one at Jackson Field as the Trevecca Nazarene University baseball team opened the home portion of their schedule. The Trojans welcomed former conference foe Kentucky Wesleyan College to the Music City, but it was the Panthers who spoiled the Opening Day party.
Kentucky Wesleyan (1-0) tallied four runs in the top of the ninth inning, and while the Trojans (1-3) got the tying run to the plate on three separate occasions in the bottom half, Trevecca was unable to find the tying tally, and the Panthers hung on for the win, 7-6.
