Trevecca Celebrates Black History Month with Series of Events

Trevecca Nazarene University is honoring Black History Month with a variety of events throughout February. These activities recognize individuals who have significantly influenced the nation’s history and also reflect the university’s ongoing commitment to diversity.

Walden Movie Night

Walden, the university’s African American student organization, will host a film screening as part of the month’s events.

“A Celebration of Gospel” Praise and Worship Event

This event will highlight the cultural and spiritual tradition of gospel music with an evening of praise and worship.

“Fact or Fiction, Our History!” Game Day

A trivia game focusing on Black history allows participants to test their knowledge in an interactive format.

Black Renaissance: A Cultural Experience

This event will showcase Black culture through a variety of expressions including food, music and art.

Civil Rights Tours

Participants will have the opportunity to explore significant Civil Rights landmarks in Nashville, guided by Zack Church.

Swing 'n' Sway Social Dance

The month will conclude with a social event event featuring a swing dance lesson.
