Trevecca students seek to make Nashville a name in Late Night TV

Trevecca junior Zach Farnum kicked off a web-series on Trevecca’s campus showcasing good ole Nashville.
“Music City Live!” the first talk show for Hart Street Entertainment Production debuted online last Thursday. A team of more than 20 young adults—mostly Trevecca students—developed the web-based talk show.Creator Farnum compared it to a night show.
“I saw the need with Nashville expanding. When you go to New York or L.A. you can go see Jimmy Fallon or Jimmy Kimmel,” Farnum said. “There’s nothing in Nashville, and it’s Music City.”

Trevecca lost a beloved former professor when Jim Foglesong, the founding director of Trevecca’s Music Business Program, died Tuesday, July 9. Foglesong is known around the world as a Country Music Hall of Famer and groundbreaking music executive who signed Garth Brooks, George Strait, The Oak Ridge Boys and others. I owe so much to James S. Foglesong. At first he was my professor, then he became my mentor and after I left Trevecca Nazarene University, he became my dear friend. He was the one who convinced my parents that Nashville was the place for me to be... He got me my first job in the music business and taught me much of what I know today. I'm deeply saddened by our loss but will be forever grateful to him and forever inspired by his legacy. Professor Foglesong, the honor was all mine...

Rudy Kalis of WSMV TV recently spent part of a day visiting with Tampa Bay Rays All Star Ben Zobrist and the Trevecca baseball team. Zobrist, who is friends with Trevecca baseball coach Ryan Schmalz, has taken to the Trojans and practiced with them all winter.
