Five Questions with Dr. Aaron Hall

A member of Trevecca’s faculty since 2017, Dr. Aaron Hall serves as an assistant professor of exercise science in the Department of Exercise and Sport Science. A licensed physical therapist, Hall holds a Bachelor of Science from Lipscomb University and a doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center. Prior to joining the Trevecca faculty, Hall spent six years serving as the clinical director for an outpatient physical therapy clinic that specialized in treating shoulder and knee patients. Hall is a certified post-injury running coach, running coach, personal trainer and holds a Functional Movement Screen Level 1 certification.

Five Questions With Dr. Phil Rickard

As an accountant, professor and former youth minister, Dr. Phil Rickard brings a wide range of experience and knowledge to bear as a program director and faculty member at Trevecca. Rickard, who has earned bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in business administration, serves as the program director for one of Trevecca’s newest graduate programs, the Master of Public Administration. With decades of experience in finance and accounting, Rickard also serves as the assistant director of Trevecca’s MBA program and a professor in the Skinner School of Business and Technology.

Five Questions with Dr. Mindy Burch

Dr. Mindy Burch, associate professor of education, is a well-known member of Trevecca’s Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) faculty. Burch teaches the (sometimes much-dreaded) statistics class required for all doctoral candidates. “She is dearly respected, admired and loved by all students,” said Dr. Alice Patterson, Ed.D. on-campus program director. Burch, who earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Trevecca, a master’s from Austin Peay State University and a doctorate from Vanderbilt University, recently shared a few thoughts with us about her work, her love of Scripture and why she’s passionate about her work.

Five Questions with Dr. Steve Hoskins

For nearly a quarter century, Dr. Steve Hoskins has served on the faculty of Trevecca’s Millard Reed School of Theology and Christian Ministry. Trevecca’s resident historian, Hoskins teaches church history and New Testament Greek. His articles have appeared in the Journal of the Wesleyan Theological Society, The Tennessee Encyclopedia of History and Culture, Gottesdienst, and other publications. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Trevecca, master’s degrees from Nazarene Theological Seminary and St. Louis University and two doctoral (Ph.D.) degrees, one from Middle Tennessee State University and another from Graduate Theological Foundation.

With more than 30 years of experience in the health care industry, Doug Turner knows what it’s like to work in the field. This fall, he joined the faculty of Trevecca’s Skinner School of Business and Technology, where he’ll be teaching classes in health care administration. He most recently served as the chief information officer of HCA Healthcare’s Physician Services Group, and previously served with LifePoint Hospitals, Inc., Maury Regional Healthcare System (Columbia, Tenn.), and more. In addition to his decades of health care industry experience, Turner holds several health care-related certifications: CHCIO, FHIMSS, and FACHE.
