Trevecca has honored three distinguished faculty members with 2025 Teaching Excellence Awards: Dr. Eleni Reid, Dr. Joy Twillie and Pam Monjar. These recipients were recognized for their dedication to academic achievement, servant leadership and student mentorship.

Dr. Eleni Reid, an assistant professor of English, is a Trevecca alumna who returned to the university as an adjunct before joining the faculty full time in 2021. She earned her doctorate from Baylor University, and her dissertation explored the intersection of literature and philosophy. Known for her ability to connect literature across multiple disciplines, Reid is deeply committed to both her students and her faith.

Dr. Joy Twillie, the academic director of Trevecca’s physician assistant program, holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She has extensive experience as both a physician and an educator, having practiced in outpatient and inpatient settings and conducted peer-reviewed research in bipolar disorder and Huntington’s disease. As an associate professor, she is passionate about training the next generation of medical professionals with a holistic approach to patient care.

Pam Monjar, a licensed professional counselor specializing in grief therapy, teaches in Trevecca’s undergraduate psychology program. After beginning her career in human resources, she earned a master’s in clinical mental health counseling from Trevecca and has worked in diverse settings including substance abuse rehabilitation and prison therapy. She is certified as a grief counseling professional and an end-of-life doula, bringing invaluable expertise to her students.

Trevecca celebrates these outstanding educators for their dedication to academic excellence, student success and Christ-centered teaching.
