Orozco selected for WorldStrides global ambassador role
Natalia Orozco, a Trevecca junior majoring in education, has earned a role as a global ambassador for WorldStrides, a program designed to enhance students' study abroad experiences.
As a global ambassador, Orozco promotes WorldStrides’ study abroad opportunities to her peers on Trevecca’s campus. Program representatives reached out to her after she traveled to Spain this summer and discovered a passion for global travel. The experience enriched her understanding of different cultures and teaching methods. “It was an incredible opportunity that deepened my love for learning,” she reflects.
Her new role allows Orozco to be a connecting point between WorldStrides and Trevecca students. “Through social media or on campus, I help get other students more involved,” she adds. She views it as a valuable learning opportunity that she can undertake while also navigating a busy academic schedule.
A Nashville native, Orozco has always been drawn to the field of education. Her commitment to teaching English, especially in other countries, aligns perfectly with her academic goals. “I thought it would be a good idea because there’s a high need for people wanting to learn English in other countries,” she said. She believes that understanding life in different cultures is crucial for any educator.
With aspirations to become an elementary school teacher, Orozco is focused on gaining valuable experiences that will shape her future in education. She plans to teach in the U.S. for a few years before possibly pursuing graduate studies or international teaching opportunities.
Orozco’s journey exemplifies the spirit of Trevecca—a commitment to learning, community engagement and a passion for education that extends beyond borders. Her role as a global ambassador is a chance to develop in her chosen profession while she paves the way for fellow students to explore the opportunities of studying abroad.
