In Their Own Words: 2026 Graduates Share Their Trevecca Experiences and Future Plans
Undergraduate and graduate students alike walked across the stage during commencement on Saturday, May 5, celebrating years of hard work and preparation for their futures. Here are just a few snapshots of their experiences at Trevecca.
Allison Watts
Associate of Arts in General Studies
“I started my degree in 2020 during COVID, but I was a little homesick and went back home. Years later, I decided it was time to graduate and I'm so thankful to God brought me back to Trevecca, the place I was always supposed to be. I’m planning to come back and do a bachelor's in either criminal justice or education, because I want to be an educator and help guide students the way Trevecca professors guided me.”
Anthony Spearman
Bachelor of Science in Information Technology
“It's been a really positive environment. I really enjoyed going to chapel and getting close to God before school even started for the day. The classwork is great. The teachers are great. I’ve built really friendly relationships. I plan to use my degree to be an AI solutions architect, building systems for companies so they can train employees or help their customers.”
Courtney Robinson
Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Science
“My favorite thing about Trevecca is the professors. They're very hands on and very good with time management. I love the connections I’ve made. I’ve been in fairly small classroom settings, so they're focused on the students and not just the lectures. I am planning on getting my masters in school psychology to become a specialist and assess kids with developmental needs and disabilities.”

Jonathan Jones
Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry
“My favorite part of Trevecca is the community. One of the best memories was going to see a Predators hockey game with some new friends after class. We all had such a great time. I don’t know what’s next but I want God to lead me. I would like to be a pastor or lead worship. Whatever God has for me, I’m going to spread his Word and the love of Jesus.”
Stacey Dodson
Master of Library and Information Science
“I found Trevecca through coworkers who had graduated with this degree and another peer who had graduated with their doctorate. They couldn't speak highly enough of Trevecca, how sincere the professors were and how the Christian values were integrated into the coursework. Even though it was an online degree, there was so much communication with faculty and my cohort. We did projects together and I felt like I was on campus. I’ll be starting my doctorate in the fall.”
Erica West-Thacker
Master of Arts in Teaching
“I loved the flexibility this program gave me because I started teaching while I was doing it and the professors really worked with me on that school-work balance. The cohort was small and through the consistent schedule we had I was able to move along and graduate with the same people. I am still teaching and considering a specialist degree at Trevecca next.”
Schelcy Allen
Doctor of Education in Leadership
“I am working in the charter school system as an administrator. The leadership courses and especially the literature has been very helpful to me in this role. There were a lot of things I learned in the classes that I took back to my workplace.”
Sharolyn Balsley
Doctor of Education in Leadership
“This is the first time I am meeting people in my cohort and it has been so exciting. One of the things that was a surprise to me is that I knew I would develop professionally, but I grew personally as well. I think I want to carry that forward and be able to encourage people to be stronger leaders in their communities and their workplaces.”
