Getting to know Trevecca: Answers to your burning questions

Here are answers to some of the questions we hear most often when people are inquiring about our school and our campus. Whether you’re just getting to know us or just need some specifics, we want to make sure you are well-informed about how things work on the Hill!

Is Trevecca test optional?

Trevecca is test-preferred, meaning students can be admitted without ACT/SAT scores, but submitting scores can increase scholarship opportunities. You can explore Trevecca’s scholarship options for details. Every traditional undergraduate student at Trevecca receives some form of financial aid.

What’s the cost of out-of-state tuition at Trevecca?

There is no out-of-state tuition. Students pay the same rate regardless of where they’re from. Financial aid & cost details can be found here.

Will I need a car if I attend Trevecca?

A car can be helpful, but it’s not required. Trevecca is a walkable campus, and Nashville offers bus routes and ride-share options for students who choose not to bring a vehicle.

Will I be judged if I go to Trevecca and I'm not Christian?

Of course not. While Trevecca is an unapologetically Christian campus, all students are welcome, and part of what makes our campus great is our loving community. Chapel services are held three times a week and students are required to earn a minimum number of chapel credits each semester.

What local churches do Trevecca students usually attend?

Nashville offers an abundance of church options. Many students attend Trevecca Community Church, located on campus. Each fall, churches from across the city participate in a Church Fair on campus to help students explore and find a church home.

Is the area around Trevecca safe?

Yes. Trevecca is a safe, close-knit campus community. Student safety is a top priority, anchored by the leadership of former Mt. Juliet Police Chief James Hambrick, Trevecca’s chief security officer. You can learn more about campus safety and security here.

How active is the commuter student community at Trevecca?

Very active. Trevecca’s Commuter Council plans events, gatherings and service projects specifically for commuters. Commuters regularly use campus spaces like the cafeteria, library and common areas to study and build relationships. Although living on campus provides the most immersive experience, commuters are fully part of campus life.

Are internships required at Trevecca?

Not all majors require an internship, but opportunities to gain relevant experience in the field are available in most every program. Internships, practicums and other forms of hands-on training help ensure students are workforce-ready when they graduate. What traditions or signature events at Trevecca do students look forward to each year?

Trevecca has a strong sense of community and a full calendar of campus traditions. Some of the most popular events include:

Are there quiet study spots on Trevecca's campus?

Yes. Waggoner Library’s third floor is a designated silent-study area, and the library includes several reservable private study rooms for individuals or groups. Quiet study spaces are also available in every academic building, and on beautiful days, students love studying outside on the Quad.
