Trevecca’s Giving Day Raises more than $1 million with the support of 1,100+ donors

On its fourth annual Giving Day, Trevecca Nazarene University received more than $1 million from more than 1,100 donors on Friday, March 22.

The funds raised will help fund key initiatives for the University including scholarships, athletic facilities, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) programs, teacher education and a number of other initiatives. This year’s donations will provide resources to shape students into servant leaders with a strong educational and spiritual foundation.

Also this year, Giving Day included a silent auction and wrapped up with the inaugural Trevecca Society Gala Dinner on Friday night. The auction and gala event accounted for a portion of the funds raised for student scholarships and a proposed athletic and event center.

Peggy Cooning, Trevecca’s vice president of university engagement, celebrated the way the University came together in leadership, service and a belief in Trevecca’s mission.

“The Trevecca community—alumni, students, employees, churches and friends—came together with incredible generosity and we are so grateful,” Cooning said. “Giving Day allows us to celebrate the ways this University has made our lives better and then pay it forward to the next generation.”

Donations can still be accepted at trevecca.edu/give. Specific areas where post-event giving may be directed include endowed and annual scholarships, campus improvements, a student food pantry and other specific initiatives.
