Trevecca Nazarene University has announced its newest master’s program for students who want to become leaders in the corporate learning and talent development field. The online Master of Arts in corporate learning and talent development is now accepting applicants for fall 2025.
The program’s curriculum is closely aligned with the Associate Professional in Talent Development (APTD) certification from the Association for Talent Development. It will focus on instructional design, training delivery and learning technologies, coupled with foundation subjects like leadership, change management and performance improvement. The program will prepare students for the APTD certification exam, increase their employability and deepen their professional credibility and mastery in the field.
“There is an ever-increasing demand for employees with this particular skill set,” said Dr. Jana Roberts, the director of the new program. “Corporations need professionals who can create, implement and evaluate effective strategies that drive success and adaptability. Our experienced faculty will combine their academic knowledge and industry expertise to give our students the competitive edge they need in the job market.”
The curriculum is designed to merge traditional aspects of corporate learning with modern trends. Along with essential areas of learning like instructional design, training delivery and ethical and legal considerations, the program will also thoroughly cover digital transformation and technology integration, including proficiency in AI tools.
“This master’s program is online, so students can balance their studies with their personal life and their careers,” Roberts said. “Trevecca saw a need and started this program to prepare graduates for whatever leadership challenges they might face. In fact, a 2024 LinkedIn Workplace Report shows that 90 percent of companies are concerned with employee retention, and learning and development has become a key driver in that area.”
A special emphasis will be placed on helping students develop emotional intelligence, cultural awareness and inclusion - all skills that are valuable and crucial in today’s workplace. Trevecca’s program will prepare leaders who can navigate and manage diverse teams and foster inclusive environments.
