April 11, 2017

Trevecca Nazarene University is the best value Christian college in Middle Tennessee and one of the best value universities in the state, according to a new study.

The study, conducted by financial technology company SmartAsset, considered five factors to determine the best value colleges: tuition, student living costs, financial aid offerings, retention rate and starting salaries of graduates.

Trevecca ranked sixth overall in Tennessee, while Vanderbilt University topped the list. Read the entire list here.

Trevecca was the only Christian university in Middle Tennessee to be ranked in the top 10. Trevecca was the top ranked university in the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities in Tennessee. Christian Brothers University was the only private Christian institution in the state ranked above Trevecca.

The study also ranked colleges and universities nationally. Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Mass., took home the national best value title. California institutions Harvey Mudd College and Stanford University rounded out the top three.

The ranking comes at an exciting time in Trevecca’s history. The University shattered enrollment records once again with a total enrollment of 3,221 students. According to data gathered by the Nashville Business Journal, the University is also the fastest growing university in Middle Tennessee. Trevecca’s School of Graduate and Continuing Studies achieved a 47 percent year-over-year increase in adult studies and graduate students from Fall 2015 to Fall 2016.
