Over the course of two commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 3, capacity crowds of family members, friends and guests joined school administrators and faculty to celebrate the 1,007 members of Trevecca Nazarene University’s 2025 graduating class.
“As we celebrate our graduates, we’re thankful that the glue that holds together our community of faith knows no bounds and isn’t restricted to our campus,” Provost Dr. Tom Middendorf said. “Today, Trevecca offers the world a gift in the form of its graduates.”
The day’s events included morning and afternoon ceremonies, both held indoors due to the weather–a 9 a.m. convocation for the conferral of all undergraduate degrees and a 2 p.m. convocation for graduates receiving advanced degrees.
Dr. Yolanda Statom, an associate professor of education, offered the challenge to new graduates during both services. A response from traditional undergraduates was given by graduating senior Gabby Colorado.
“Throughout our time at Trevecca, we’ve experienced what it means to be alive together,” Colorado said in her address. “And this is not the end—it is the beginning of a life marked by faith, service and love.”
The ceremony also included the awarding of the Trevecca Citizenship Award, which was presented to Christian ministry graduate Holden Payseur.
