The Trevecca chapter of FUTURO is the winner of this year’s Select 100 Chapter of the Year in two categories, Most Engaged Campus Chapter and Highest Average Points Per Person.

Individually, Trevecca students Francisco Carrascal-Saenz, Monserrat Escobar and Lal Zudei were the top three students in FUTURO’s point rankings. Points are awarded for participating activities such as attending career development workshops, networking events or community service. All three students will have the opportunity to attend a leadership retreat in May in Southern California.

FUTURO is a nonprofit organization focused on career readiness and leadership that works to close the equity gaps in higher education. FUTURO, which is Spanish for “future,” helps to prepare college students and secure opportunities for civic engagement, professional development and economic mobility in an environment that emphasizes resilience and community.

“Throughout this program, our students learn leadership skills through hands-on experiences, skills that are essential in any workplace such as critical thinking, goal setting, effective communication, teamwork, budgeting, emotional intelligence, problem-solving, adaptability, and interpersonal skills,” said FUTURO executive director Jennifer Novo. “Our FUTURO students are making an impact not only in their lives, but they are also leaving their mark on their campus and in the community.”
