Trevecca Nazarene University has named Garrett Webster, Harrison Massey and Dylan Anderson as the 2025 recipients of the prestigious McClurkan Scholarship. Named after the founder of Trevecca, J.O. McClurkan, the McClurkan Scholarship is the University’s largest and most competitive full-tuition scholarship.
To qualify for the scholarship, students must demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence, Christian service and leadership. Applicants are invited to apply after meeting a minimum score of 29 on the ACT or 1330+ on the SAT, with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. After applying, the top candidates are invited to campus for interviews and campus visits.
This year’s McClurkan Scholarship recipients include:
Garrett Webster, from Cornersville, Tennessee, is an Eagle Scout from Troop 273. A member of numerous leadership and nature-focused clubs, Garrett enjoys helping his community grow. The youngest of three children in his family, Garrett plans to follow in his siblings’ footsteps by entering the medical field. He plans to pursue a degree in biology prior to attending medical school.
Harrison Massey, a native of Nashville, Tennessee, attends Davidson Academy. Throughout his 14 years at Davidson, Harrison was involved in activities that included baseball, basketball, speech and debate and student government. His passion for communication and peace has inspired him to pursue a degree in communications to spread encouragement in the career where he finds his calling.
Dylan Anderson, also from Nashville, is a dedicated follower of Christ who strives to glorify God in everything she does. A rising graduate of Franklin Road Academy, she has been active in school musical productions, served as a leader on her church worship team and tutored fellow students through the National Honor Society. Dylan plans to major in worship arts and pursue a career in ministry, sharing God’s love through her talents.
McClurkan Day, the final step in the selection process for McClurkan scholars, took place on March 7. By invitation, selected students were hosted on campus to preview college life, meet other applicants, participate in interviews for the scholarship and enjoy an evening in Nashville.
