Trevecca is ranked among the best colleges and universities in the state, according to WalletHub. The personal finance website released its “2021 College and University Rankings” on Oct. 19. Trevecca ranked fifth among Tennessee schools.
Designed to help prospective college students make informed decisions, the WalletHub ranking seeks to determine “top-performing schools at the lowest possible cost to undergraduates.”
Using data collected from the National Center for Education Statistics, Council for Community and Economic Research, the U.S. Department of Education and more, WalletHub compared more than 1,000 colleges and universities across the country based on 30 key measures. Metrics included admission rates, tuition and fees, and the return on educational investment, among others.
Ranked ninth in WalletHub’s 2019 ranking of Tennessee institutions and fifth last year, Trevecca maintained fifth in the 2021 rankings, with Vanderbilt University topping the list. Trevecca ranked 227th nationally, higher than Lipscomb University, the University of Tennessee and Tennessee Wesleyan, among other institutions.

Among the four Nazarene colleges and universities included in the ranking, Trevecca ranked first in two categories: cost/financing and campus experience. The cost and financing category is determined by a weighted system that includes factors such as net cost, availability of student employment services and student loan debt. The campus experience category considers the number of international students, NCAA membership and gender/racial diversity, among other factors.
