Construction was completed and finishing touches were added this summer on Trevecca’s Health Sciences Building, providing a new home for some of Trevecca’s academic programs to begin the fall semester.
The building, a 33,000-square-foot structure connected to the Greathouse Science Building, houses new facilities for health sciences students in programs like Trevecca’s distinguished physician assistant (PA) program. The four-story space includes classrooms, faculty offices, labs, lounge/study areas and a terrace with a bird’s eye view of campus.
“Located at one of the major U.S. centers for the health industry, Trevecca continues to build its strength as a key contributor to the local health professions and the health industry,” Stephen Silliman, dean of the School of STEM said. “Based on state-of-the-art facilities within the new building, as well as the excellence of the PA program, Trevecca is actively pursuing expansion of this nationally respected program.”
In addition to allowing for growth and improved learning experiences in Trevecca’s graduate PA program, the expansion creates new opportunities for undergraduate science programs like biology and exercise science.
“The new Health Sciences Building represents an extraordinary step to expanding multiple disciplines through new laboratory and teaching spaces,” Silliman said.
Updates and technological advancements will allow for a range of teaching styles, expanding learning opportunities to be more effective, creative and collaborative.
