McLeod Named to Board of Professional Educators of Tennessee

Tavia McLeod headshot.Trevecca Director of Instructional Leadership Licensure Programs Dr. Tavia McLeod was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of Professional Educators of Tennessee.

McLeod has more than two decades of experience in education, having worked as a public education teacher and administrator. She is an Institution Review Board (IRB) member at Trevecca as well as an instructional leadership comprehensive program reviewer. She also serves as treasurer for the Tennessee Association of Independent Liberal Arts Colleges of Teacher Education.

McLeod is an assistant professor in Trevecca’s School of Education. She earned a master’s degree in special education from Tennessee State University and a doctorate in leadership and professional practice as well as an endorsement in instructional leadership from Trevecca.

Board member Stacia Anglin said of McLeod, “She has a big heart. She never seeks power, status or recognition for herself. She is about service to others and is a perfect addition to the Professional Educators of Tennessee Board.”

The mission of Professional Educators of Tennessee is to create a quality educational experience for children where safety and achievement are emphasized. They provided legal and liability protection, advocacy for statewide education issues and resources for the classroom.
