Trevecca Dean of Online Learning Dr. LaMetrius Daniels has been selected to join the 2021-2022 class of the Tennessee Independent Colleges and Universities Association’s (TICUA) Executive Leadership Institute, the organization announced recently.

Designed to strengthen campus leadership teams and prepare the next generation of leaders for executive roles in higher education, the TICUA Executive Leadership Institute is an innovative development program for senior campus officials. Known as Pressnell Fellows, participants are selected by their institution’s president to participate and learn from national, regional and state educators during a nine-month program.

Daniels, who has served at Trevecca as director of online learning since 2014 and as program director for instructional design and technology since 2017, was promoted to dean of online learning this summer. She oversees the development of Trevecca’s online instruction capabilities as well as operations related to program design, strategy and compliance. She previously served as dean of campus technology and director of information technology at Fisk University.

Daniels has earned a Ph.D. in instructional systems and workforce development; a master’s degree in instructional technology; and bachelor’s degrees in information technology and business education, all from Mississippi State University. She is a member of the International Society for Technology Education, the Online Learning Consortium and the Quality Matters Instructional Design Association and she has volunteered as a peer mentor for instructional designers across the U.S.
