After 20 years of working with artists such as Third Day, Michael W. Smith, Casting Crowns and Jars of Clay, music industry executive Dean Diehl decided to take a radical step of faith. Following a deep desire in his heart to teach, Diehl resigned his position at Provident Music Group in order to accept a teaching position at Trevecca Nazarene University where he now serves as Director of their Music Business Program. Diehl also remains active as a music marketing consultant working with artists such as Newsboys, Jaci Velasquez, Superchick and Michael W. Smith. Diehl is married to Judy, his wife of 25 years and they share four beautiful daughters, 3 horses, 2 dogs, 4 cats and a motley collection of chickens and rabbits.
I currently serve as the Chair of the Department of Music and have taught at Trevecca for the past 15 years. My wife Tina and my two children, Joy and Gloria, recently moved into an East Nashville residence to be closer to the school and our church, First Church of the Nazarene, where I serve as the Worship Ministries Coordinator.
Welcome! I am delighted to serve as an assistant professor of physics in the Department of Science and Mathematics at Trevecca. I've worked for over a decade in the field of magnetospheric space physics, but also have interests in philosophy and religion. My wife Kelly and I live in Antioch, near Percy Priest Lake, with our two children, Caleb (9) and Jason (4). Having grown up as the son of a Bible translator in central Africa, I am always interested in learning about new places and cultures.
